The Story
Paul Heaton & Jacqui Abbottās fifth studio albumĀ āN.K-PopāĀ gets a worldwide exclusive picture disc release via Blood Records and hand-numbered to order. Paul & Jacquiās previous album āManchester Callingā went straight to No 1 on its release in March ā20.Ā
The duo recently released their brand new singleĀ āToo Much For One (Not Enough For Two)ā - an effortlessly uplifting slice of gospel tinged pop.
Says Paul Heaton: āI wanted to write a song about someone who was too over the top to handle. For years now, whenever Iām naughty, I say: āYouāre just too much for one and not enough for twoā to myself in an American accent. Since I got married, Iāve realised what a handful I am. I am too much for one, and I need to rein it in. My mum was the same, and so is my youngest daughter. My wife says: āWhen the two of you are at it, I have to run away,ā and sheās a teaching assistant, so sheās used to errant behaviour. I now realise Iām not as mellow as I thought I was and that Iām a pain in the arse. The song is more of a tease than writing someone off. It has serious moments but, even though theyāve been caught texting and up to no good, the couple are still together. Jacqui sounds great on this song. You havenāt really heard her vocals, then she comes bouncing in fantastically on the chorus.ā
N.K-Pop is produced by long-time Heaton collaborator John Williams, who produced the previous fourĀ Paul Heaton & Jacqui AbbottĀ albums. The record was recorded at Blueprint Studios in Salford, Manchester. The album features Paul & Jacquiās regular band ā Jonny Lexus (guitars), Chris Wise (bass), Pete Marshall (drums) and Stephen Large (keyboards).
Please note that Blood Records is a pre-ordering platform and this record is due for releaseĀ onĀ 7thĀ October 2022.Ā All images for illustrative purposesĀ
